Paul Walde’s Requiem for a Glacier will be featured in the exhibition THE EDGE OF THE EARTH: CLIMATE CHANGE IN PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEO at the Ryerson Image Centre in Toronto. Guest curated by Montréal-based art historian Dr. Bénédicte Ramade, this in-depth exhibition attempts to foster a reconsideration of climate change, envisioning the present crises and future consequences of humanity’s harsh imprint on our planet. Accompanying the exhibition, Black Dog Publishing will be publishing a large-format catalogue with critical texts by Bénédicte Ramade and T. J. Demos.

In addition to Walde, participating artists include: Andreas Rutkauskas, Brandi Merolla, Hicham Berrada, Jean-Pierre Aubé, Evariste Richer, Adrien Missika, Peter Goin, Isabelle Hayeur, Julian Charrière, Nicholas Baier, Benoit Aquin, Naoya Hatakeyama, Edward Burtynsky, Amy Balkin, Richard Misrach, Robert Rauschenberg, Sharon Stewart, Chris Jordan, Mishka Henner, Paola Pivi, Gideon Mendel, Raymond Boisjoly, and Joel Sternfeld

The exhibition runs from September 14 – December 4, 2016 at the RYERSON IMAGE CENTRE – 33 GOULD STREET, TORONTO, ONTARIO

On Thursday September 15, Paul Walde will deliver a lecture on the use of scoring and music in his work at the Department of Visual Arts at Western University in London Ontario at 7pm.

On Friday September 16th, Paul Walde will perform as a member of the three person sound art collective Audio Lodge at Western University’s artLab Gallery at 7pm. The event is hosted by the London Ontario Media Arts Association and Western University.
